Would word-split font styling do the trick as well?

Bionic reading proposes to "Increase your performance and dedicate yourself to the transmission of messages. More knowledge will make you more successful and give you the significant advantage in this noisy and hectic world." I certainly does feel like something is clicking in the brain. Would we get a similar neurological "boost" by splitting the words down the middle and "embiggening" the font on the first half?
